"It's just a jump to the left."

and you sing "And then a step to the right.-Put your hands on your hips. etc"- BY THIS TIME YOU SHOULD BE DANCING IN THE ISLE!

If you aren't your probably a "Virgin"- which is undoubtedly the term for newcomer seeing the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, for the first time in a theater. What are you 13? It's been around for a long time!

Now I know some of my readers are close to Columbus, Ohio- which is my hometown- but I still recommend you still see this live- and some theaters have what is called a "Shadow cast"- where a group of people do a live performance for you right in front of the movie screen! Now if you don't wanna call these people a Shadow cast, you could call them GEEKS, some of them may like that - but people the proper term is "Cult enthusiast"...

Also at these shows, you can bring props and play along, such as to make it rain you might bring a water gun - if someone mentions a "Great Scott" you might throw toilet paper- but I'm not telling you why or when during the show- cause if something hits you during the show- you weren't paying attention- also you might be daft- cause I just gave you a VERY BIG CLUE!

Also, don't mind the yelling people next to you, and they aren't trying to ruin the movie- those are CALLBACKS - and you can look some of them up online to learn them why watching the movie- which has a very good Anniversary Edition DVD set out which includes the said sequel to RHPS called Shock Treatment with it!

Does this sound fun to you - keep reading on!

My favorite place to see Rocky Horror performed live like this is actually right in my hometown down at Studio 35, why because they are a cinema and a drafthouse- so let's think about this- Why do I like it: Cult Film +Booze = Fun! Enough said!

So here is a little bit about the shadow cast in Columbus, Ohio I speak of! If you aren't from around Columbus, or you don't plan to visit soon- then you should deff. check your local area- there are cast doing this everywhere- and it is a fun time to be had for all- if you are a parent taking your kids and dropping them off might not be a good idea- but make it a family thing, and use your own judgement- if your a parent have you ever watched ROCKY HORROR- then you know what it is about, and what might be going on in a theater showing this- Remember it is not the cast job to watch you kid- nothing bugs me more going to see RHPS then to see this happening- it takes it away for those of us who enjoy the show! RANT OVER!

Let me introduce you to my favorite shadow cast- THE FISHNET MAFIA (Distant Cousins if you will to THREE SIX MAFIA- WHO DEFIANTLY DOES NOT PERFORM RHPS- HOWEVER FUNNY THAT MIGHT BE)

THERE THEY ARE- THE MOST CURRENT FAMILY ( You'll get the reference when you see the film) I COULD FIND! From the last Halloween show- one of the perfect times to see the show any day!

You can find this local Columbus cast on the web if you are interested in going-http://www.columbusrockylive.org/

Follow them on Twitter- @TFMRHPS

Or find them on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/TheFishnetMafia

To find out more- the next show from now is February 5: MARDI GRAS FESTIVITIES NIGHT

Wow! I almost forgot to mention no matter how many times you see the show here- something changes cause every show might have a new theme! :O

For those of you not in Columbus- check out this Rocky Horror fan site to find a show near you perhaps- they list many shows coming up!

http://www.rockyhorror.com/ - This will find your location and give you the nearest showing, and more tips for the show- also you can call those theaters to find out their rules. You can also find out if there is a shadowcast. Some theaters don't let you bring certain props- or have age rules.

So CHECK THE SHOW OUT! :) I hope your RHPS experience is just as wonderful as mine always are!

Bryce

P.s.- for an extra challenge DRESS UP when you go to the theater as your fav. character- or if you haven't seen the show yet- punk and goth yourself up! :)

Here's those crazy Stars Bunnies re enacting the movie in 30 seconds- but beware there are spoilers- and if you haven't seen it- please see the original first- it makes this all the more funny!
